Robert Svensson

About
Robert Svensson is Professor at the Department of Criminology at Malmö University. He received his PhD in Sociology at Stockholm University (2004) and was appointed Associate Professor of Sociology (swe: Docent) by the Faculty of Social Sciences at Stockholm University (2008). He has been a visiting research fellow at the Institute of Criminology at University of Cambridge and at the Max Planck Institute in Freiburg.
His main research interests include crime and deviance, and in particular crime and deviance among adolescents, morality and crime, crime trends, immigration and crime, cross-national comparative research, and quantitative methods.
Among other things, he is currently working in the project: "When violence becomes an acceptable action alternative" funded by the Swedish Research Council. The aim of this project is to conduct research focusing on violence in Sweden, England and Germany.
