She completed a PhD in Criminology at the Hebrew University in 2016 and has over 10 years of university teaching and supervision experience. Earlier in her career, she was a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Institute of Criminology, University of Cambridge (2016–2017).
Dr Perry's research focuses on the complex dynamics between state and citizen, particularly examining police-community relations in political contexts through the lens of procedural justice and legitimacy. She has authored 25+ peer-reviewed journal articles, one edited volume (The Future of Evidence-Based Policing, Cambridge University Press, 2023), and four book chapters. Articles appear in Law & Society Review, Policing: A Journal of Policy and Practice, European Journal of Criminology, Journal of Experimental Criminology, Criminal Justice and Behavior, and International Annals of Criminology. Her academic service includes editorial roles (Editorial Manager of the Journal of Quantitative Criminology, 2014–2017) and membership of committees for criminology conferences. She has also held visiting positions at the University of St Andrews (CSTPV), University College London, and the University of West London, and presents regularly at the American and European Societies of Criminology.
