About
On 28th November 2025, the Centre for Analytic Criminology held its first workshop of this academic year at the Institute of Criminology, University of Cambridge.
The workshop brought together PhD students, early career researchers, and senior researchers from the University of Cambridge (UK), Loughborough University (UK) and Malmö University (Sweden) working with Situational Action Theory. Participants presented and discussed research being conducted across Northern Europe (e.g. Sweden), Western Europe (e.g. the UK and Germany), Central and Eastern Europe (e.g. Poland and Romania), as well as Asia (e.g. China) and the Middle East (e.g. Israel). These discussions generated constructive discussions on theoretical developments, methodological approaches, and empirical applications.
The workshop concluded with a visit to the Cambridge University Botanic Garden Light and dinner, offering a relaxed setting to continue conversations beyond the formal workshop programme.
Many thanks to Professor Kyle Treiber and the PADS+ Research Team for organising the workshop, and to all participants for their valuable contributions. We look forward to building on these discussions through future workshops and ongoing collaboration.
